Still Life with Folding Chair

Oil on Canvas | 12″ x 16″

The mostly vertical and horizontal lines structure the picture, divide it up into simple forms, mostly rectangles, triangles, L-shapes.

The lines are lighter in value than the forms which seems to give a lightness to the painting – both in terms of value and in terms of feeling.

The objects (seemingly a green and a red pot and a blue cup (?); no idea what the tall brownish form on the right is supposed to be), appear detached from their setting, almost floating.

Great painting.
