Fleurs Marchantes

Print | Ink on Paper

8″ x 6″

The simplified, angular forms infuse what started out as a simple bouquet of flowers with a certain sense of movement. The asymmetric arrangement and the more or less unintentional white and black stripes and spots also appear to contribute to the liveliness of the print.

The print turns out to be one example where a degree of abstraction led to an expressive force quite unrelated to the underlying realistic subject matter.

‘Interesting’, may be one thing that can be said for this print.
